The verse that God has laid on hearts for our Church for 2015 is taken from Hebrews 12 verse 2:

looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God”

On the first Sunday of 2015 our Pastor Phyl encouraged us all to look to Jesus in many aspects of our lives this year and and challenged us to “Fix our eyes on him” and be proactive. To make sure that we “Look to Him” rather than “watch Him” or “see Him”. Sounds unusual but there is a difference.

Phylip used an analogy from sport to differentiate the fans who “watch” from the stands, the coaches who “see” from the sideline and the players on the field who “look” to see where the next play can take place. Why not take the time to listen to the message online as he encouraged us to look to Him for;

  • Ourselves – that our motivations and passions are centered on Him.
  • Our Families – that we can rely on Him whatever we face together.
  • Our Church – that He would guide us and guard our church community at ABC.
  • Our Community & Country – that we would trust in Him for our nation, particularly as this is a General Election Year.
