When Ammanford Bible Church was established in 1995. The founders believe God gave them a clear remit, they did not want to establish “just another church”, but a church with a clear mission to accomplish three things that God laid on their hearts. Today we call this our “mission statement” or our “purpose”. Everything we do as a church is aimed at fulfilling this mission, and all our activities and energies are focused at this goal.
Ammanford Bible Church exists to fulfill the following Commands of Jesus Christ:
- To reach those who are outside the kingdom for Christ (Mark 16:15)
- To disciple those who attend ABC (Matthew 28:19)
- To be salt & light to our community (Matthew 5:13-16)
Over time, and for simplicity, these three commands have been simplified into three phrases you’ll see everywhere in ABC life:
Reach the Lost
As a church our primary commitment is to reach the lost. We feel strongly that everyone should have the opportunity of understanding the message of Salvation and the life that following Christ affords. We will not rest until everyone in our community has heard the message. We will also strive to find effective and relevant ways to communicate the message without compromise.
Everyone who follows Christ should be committed to honouring God with their lives. We acknowledge that we are to be stewards all that we have. As a church are committed to being disciples and discipling. We will align our lives with God’s Word, allow the Holy Spirit to change us, and live a life that brings Glory to God.
Salt & Light
We are committed to meeting the needs of our local community and making a difference in it. We believe that we honour God as we meet those needs and will gain influence and opportunities for God to move in the lives of those in our community.
